How exciting to be traveling to the 2014 NAEA Convention in San Diego!! I will be presenting during the middle level medley presentations about my experiences with TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) and choice-based projects and assessments this past school year. It's also very exciting to get to see old, familiar faces and meet lots of new people, too - including the pioneers of TAB. Did I mention I was excited???
It's also very exciting that I am updating my blog from the airplane! What?! Technology has come a long way and I hope to use more technology in my choice-based classroom next school year. Right now we have one student computer we use for research and resources. We also have a starboard and a document camera we use often for discussions, demonstrations, visual reviews, and inspirational images and videos. However, I would love to have an iPad or two (or more) for just the art room kiddos to use. I have been allowing students to use my own iPad to create Lego stop motion animations with a very cool Lego animation app - but it would be better to have iPads just for school.
How do you use technology in your classroom???
I am hoping to gain more info about using technology and iPads in the classroom with my students. I know there will be a wealth of knowledge from presenters - I can't wait. Even if you aren't attending the convention this year, you can download the convention app for free and there are lots of handouts from presentations that you can download and email. Be sure to check it out!
More soon…. Artfully Yours, Nikki K.
